Findhorn, Morayshire, Scotland

Some additional photos from the recent Scottish trip. Findhorn sits at the mouth of the River Findhorn just north of Forres. It’s the next place along the beach from Burghead, where we were staying. The walk between them is about seven miles along the shore, with nothing in between except the Roseisle Forest. In a few of the photos from the beach you can see Burghead on the horizon

.

All the above photos were taken on the river estuary side of the Findhorn headland, capturing its shoreline and tidal views.

This is the mouth of the River Findhorn, where freshwater meets the sea. In the distance you can see the rolling hills of the Black Isle on the northern side of the Moray Firth and the distant mountains rising beyond.

The following pictures are on or from the beach on the other side of the headland facing the Firth

On the last two photos, the headland you can see in the background is Burghead, where we stayed, and beyond that is the Roseisle Forest, which follows the bay all the way round. It is a seven-mile walk along the beach. We used to stroll along Burghead end of th beach most evenings with Max, our Border Terrier, and more often than not there was never anybody else to be seen.
